After months of planning, promoting and rehearsing, all the hardworks paid off for the “King Of The Gil,” Enrique Gil.
Last November 29, Enrique proved to all his fans (and even detractors) that he can fill the Big Dome with a bang!
Enrique is tagged as the “Dougie King” for his Twitter trending performance when dancing “Teach Me How To Dougie.” It started in his Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV) guesting where he taught studio audience/viewers how to dance the “dougie.”
Not everyone has the chance to have an album, and little did I imagine that Quen (Enrique’s nickname) will have one since he is not a singer. Under Star Records, ‘King Of The Gil’ is Quen’s first-ever dance album. With seven tracks: Ikaw Lamang, Magsayawan-Rock Baby Rock medley, Katawan-Legs medley, Rockin’ Them Jeans, Miss Miss, So Fly and Oha (Kaya Mo Ba ‘To), five of which were original songs made especially for Quenito. My favorite songs of them all? — Miss Miss and So Fly, same with Quen’s.
Checking his official Instagram account @enriquegil17, and Twitter accounts @itsenriquegil and @yoitsenriqueg, you can conclude he’s very busy prepping for his concert. Yes, he had a concert at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum! So I just checked his handler’s and road manager’s IG and Twitter accounts.
KING OF THE GIL.
The King fits his crown as the ‘King Of The Gil’ Enrique Gil filled the Big Dome! Fans all over the country unite and trooped to Cubao, Quezon City to support him. Quenatics, JulQuens, KathQuens, Enriquelicious, etc came as one for Quen’s “one love.”
Kapamilya stars supported Quen’s concert: Ejay Falcon, Martin del Rosario, Arjo Atayde, Arron Villaflor, Rayver Cruz, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, Vice Ganda and Angel Locsin. Rapper Gloc-9 was also at the concert. All of them were given spot numbers which helped Quen to please the wild crowd.
ABS-CBN bosses also took time to watch the concert to show Quen that they believed in him: ABS-CBN President & CEO Charo Santos-Concio, Star Cinema boss Malou Santos and directors Olivia Lamasan and Enrico Santos.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE CONCERT.
Tension and heat filled the Big Dome as Quen and Angel Locsin interpreted Zedd’s “Clarity.”
G-force dancers together with Quen meanwhile fire up the concert stage with Katawan-Legs medley prod number. The “towel scene” was the craziest act in the show.
Without Vice Ganda, there will be no “Dougie King” tag for Enrique Gil. That’s why Vice Ganda was one of the special guests in Quen’s concert. They sang Magsayawan-Rock Baby Rock medley.
During the concert, Quen acknowledged Vice Ganda as his “Queen Of The Gil.” Yes, let’s admit it, Quen owes a lot to Vice. Fans wanted Julia Montes to be the “Queen” but here’s the saddest truth, Vice Ganda got the crown!
BEST NIGHT EVER.
I should say, it was the best night of my November! Seated so near the stage is one hell of a treat! So near yet so far because a lot of the audience came near the stage every time Quen goes down.
So, I documented all Quen’s production numbers during the concert while enjoying as well. I deleted all my songs, some apps and photos to save the moment and to share in my social media accounts. So here are some of the videos. Enjoy!
Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario welcome Enrique:
Paandar na water gun and bubbles for Moshpit people:
Enrique is my Knight in shining armor, even if he doesn’t know. He saved me from being a lonely girl by just looking at his photos and savoring “his kiss.”
Special thanks to our dear Sir Bong Osorio and Ate RJ Rodillo for their generosity. Thank you so much for giving me the chance to watch Enrique’s concert live. Mwah!
